Photoshop VS Lightroom

Photoshop Vs. Lightroom what do you use? There are many different photo editing systems out there, the two most popular are Photoshop and Lightroom. What are the differences?

Photoshop was has been around since 1990 and has evolved since then to become the first choice for photographers, designers and many more, its long history has allowed it to develop many different tools for people to work with, so much so that to be "photoshopped" is now a verb in the English language!  The biggest complaints with Photoshop are that when you are handling lots of pictures specifically in RAW format to edit, organise and print them you need to use 3 different programs.

Lightroom is a much more recent programme consequently it is designed more for today's work flows.  So where hundreds of images in raw format are taken in a session on a regular basis.  Lightroom allows you to do everything in one place so most people find it easier and quicker to process their pictures.

So which is better, that will depend upon what you want to use it for!  If you want to get into the pixel level detail and use all the tools and tricks you can imagine then Photoshop is probably going to float your boat!  If you prefer to organise, edit and print from one place and not delve as deeply into after shot effects then Lightroom might be your thing!
